Local operations

On July 15th, 2013, the Vietnamese government issued Decree 72, on Management, Provision, and Use of Internet Services and Information Content Online, which came into effect on September 1st 2013. It introduces a licensing regime for internet service providers.
 
In addition, it obliges organisations and enterprises that establish news websites, social networks, as well as providers of information services on mobile networks and game service providers to have 'at least 01 server system in Vietnam serving the inspection, storage, and provision of information at the request of competent authorities, and settlement of customers' complaints about the service provisions in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Information and Communications' (art 25, 26, 28, 34 of Decree 72).
