On 3 March 2009, the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance issued a circular raising import tariffs for designated milk products.
The import duty on condensed milk and cream as well as milk and cream of various fat degrees has been raised from 5 to 15 percent.
Unsweetened but concentrated milk and cream products are to be charged with an import tariff of 10 instead of 3 percent.
The import tariff on fresh milk was raised from 7 to 20 percent.
The import duties on powdered milk remained unaffected of this decision.
