Import tariff

On 30 October 2014, the Economic Cooridination Committee of Pakistan imposed a 20% "regulatory" duty on wheat imports. According to the press release, the government views the additional duty as justified because of increasing imports and a surplus in domestic wheat production.

Import of wheat was later banned effective 23 January 2015 (see related measure).
