Import tariff quota

On 9 November 2011, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued Resolution no. 87 revoking the tariff rate quotas for:

  • cylindrical sections of stainless (CrMoV) steel, high temperature resistant, of specified dimensions (NCM 7326.90.90): duty at 2% for a quota of 1,500 tonnes, since 6 October 2011; and
  • convex plates of a kind used in the manufacture of reactors for the petrochemical industry (NCM 7326.90.90): duty at 2% for a quota 100 tonnes, since 3 November 2011.

The quotas were introduced by Resolutions no. 72 of 5 October 2011 and 83 of 31 October 2011, respectively (see 'Related measures'). With the new resolution, the duties were restored at 18%.
