Import-related non-tariff measure, nes
On 14 October 2014, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade announced amendment 73/M-DAG/PER/10/2014 to the regulation 83/M-DAG/PER/12/2012 (cf. Related Measures) changing the ports of entry and relieving certain products from the verification or technical inquiry process.
According to the amended art. 6(1) the products listed in the original regulation can now be also imported through the seaport Krueng Geukuh in North Aceh. Also, the the Kualanamu Airport in Deli Serdang replaced on the list the closed Polonia Airport in nearby Medan.
The added articles 9A and 9B further specify that products imported by Priority Line Importers (Importir Jalur Prioritas, IJP) may be free of the verification or technical inquiry process if the concerned sections of products are listed as part of the related field of business in the Importer Identification Number (Angka Pengenal Importir, API) and if they have been subject to verification or technical inquiry in the port of loading.
The regulation will come into force on 1 December 2014.
Update
On 15 October 2015, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade issued regulation 87/M-DAG/PER/10/2015. The regulation replaces regulation 83/M-DAG/PER/12/2012 as amended by 73/M-DAG/10/2014 (cf. Related Measures). As the 2015 regulation further eases the import procedures and does not revoke the liberalisations provided in the 2012 and 2014 regulations, the measure at hand remains in force.
