ANNOUNCEMENT 16 Oct 2014In October 2014, the government of the United States initiated a new anti-subsidy and a new anti-dumping investigation.
NUMBER OF INTERVENTIONS
On November 6, 2015 the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of certain welded line pipe from Korea and Turkey that the Department of Commerce has determined are sold in the United States at less than fair value and subsidized by the government of Turkey. As a result of these determinations the Department of Commerce will issue anti-dumping duty orders on imports of this product from Korea and Turkey and a countervailing duty order on imports of this product from Turkey.
The case began on October 16, 2014 when a coalition of eight U.S. firms (ACIPCO, Energex, Maverick Tube Corporation, Northwest Pipe Company, Stupp Corporation, Tex-Tube Company, TMK IPSCO, and Welspun Tubular LLC USA) filed petitions requesting countervailing and anti-dumping investigations on imports of welded API line pipe from Korea and Turkey.
