Anti-dumping

On November 21, 2012, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) from Chinese Taipei and Japan (MOFCOM Announcement No. 69 of 2012, 21.11.2012).
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 2914.1200.
This follows the application lodged on September 20, 2012 by PetroChina Harbin Petrochemical Company, PetroChina Fushun Petrochemical Company, PetroChina Lanzhou Petrochemical Company and Zibo Qixiang Tengda Chemical Co., Ltd. on behalf of the domestic industry.
On November 20, 2013, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping duty on imports of methyl ethyl ketone originating in Chinese Taipei and Japan (MOFCOM Announcement No. 65 of 2013, 20.11.2013). This duty entered into force on November 21, 2013 and is applicable for a period of five years.
