Anti-dumping

On May 28, 2008, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of cyclic dimethyl siloxane (or dimethyl cyclosiloxane) from South Korea and Thailand.
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 2931.0000 and 3824.9099.
On November 6, 2008, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of cyclic dimethyl siloxane originating in South Korea and Thailand. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in South Korea is 25.1%. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in Thailand ranges from 5.4% to 21.8%.
On May 27, 2009, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of cyclic dimethyl siloxane originating in South Korea and Thailand (MOFCOM Announcement No. 31 of 2009, 27.05.2009). The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in South Korea is 25.1%. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in Thailand ranges from 5.4% to 21.8%. This duty entered into force on May 28, 2009 and is applicable for a period of five years.
On May 28, 2014, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China announced that the duty imposed on imports of cyclic dimethyl siloxane originating in South Korea and Thailand terminated since no application had been filled for an extension (MOFCOM Announcement No. 36 of 2014, 28.05.2014).
