Anti-dumping

On June 7, 2013, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of acetone (dimethyl ketone) from Chinese Taipei, Japan, Singapore and South Korea (MOFCOM Announcement No. 35 of 2013, 07.06.2013).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 2914.1100.
This follows the application lodged on April 3, 2013 by Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Company and Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao Company on behalf of the domestic PVC industry.
On June 6, 2014, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping duty on imports of acetone (dimethyl ketone) originating in Chinese Taipei, Japan, Singapore and South Korea (MOFCOM Announcement No. 40 of 2014, 06.06.2014). This duty entered into force on June 8, 2014 and is applicable for a period of five years.
