Anti-dumping

On September 25, 2008, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of 1.4butanediol from Chinese Taipei and Saudi Arabia (MOFCOM Announcement No. 70 of 2008, 25.09.2008).
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 2905.3990.
The complaint was lodged on August 25, 2008 by a Chinese producer on behalf of the domestic industry.
 
On May 5, 2009, the Chinese authorities decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of 1.4butanediol originating in Chinese Taipei and Saudi Arabia. The rate of the duty ranges from 9.3% to 31.6%, depending on the company.
 
On December 24, 2009, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of 1.4butanediol originating in Chinese Taipei and Saudi Arabia (MOFCOM Announcement No. 106 of 2009, 24.12.2009). The rate of this definitive anti-dumping duty ranges from 4.5% to 13.6%, depending on the company. This duty entered into force on December 25, 2009 and is applicable for a period of five years.
 
This anti-dumping measure expired on December 25th, 2014 since no application for a sunset review was lodged (MOFCOM Announcement No. 82 of 2014, 10.12.2014).
