Anti-dumping

On June 13, 2014, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of hemodialysis equipment (or renal dialysis equipment) from Japan and the European Union (MOFCOM Announcement No. 42 of 2014, 13.06.2014).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 9018.9040.
The complaint was lodged on April 21, 2014 by Chongqing Shanwaishan Science & Technology Co., Ltd. on behalf of the domestic industry.
According to the UN Comtrade Database, in 2013 the following EU member states exported goods classified under HS code 9018.90 to China with a trade value over USD 1 million: Germany (USD 415.92 million), Sweden (USD 48.18 million), Italy (USD 14.02 million), France (USD 11.90 million), the United Kingdom (USD 11.08 million), Ireland (USD 9.39 million), Hungary (USD 2.93 million), Finland (USD 1.97 million), Slovenia (USD 1.96 million), Denmark (USD 1.44 million), Spain (USD 1.24 million) and the Netherlands (USD 1.01 million).
 
On December 17th, 2014, the Chinese authorities decided to terminate the investigation without imposing any anti-dumping measure (MOFCOM Announcement No. 85 of 2014, 17.12.2014). This decision follows the withdrawal on December 11th, 2014 of the complaint lodged by Chongqing Shanwaishan Science & Technology Co., Ltd.
