Import tariff

 On 11 July 2014, the Indian Ministry of Finance increased the import duty from nil to 10% on certain IT products including under HS code 8517 including soft switches and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) equipment, optical transport equipments, carrier ethernet switch, Packet Transport Node products, Multiple Input /Multiple Output products, Long Term Evolution products and Multiprotocol Label Switching Transport Profile products. Meanwhile, all goods required for the manufacture of the above products have been exempt from import duty.
