Public procurement preference margin

The Cleveland City Council approved an ordinance in March, 2010 that gives a 2 percent bid discount to companies that are located within the five-county region of Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Medina and Lorain counties.
It also gives a 2 percent discount to companies that have been certified for their use of sustainable business practices, such as conserving energy and reducing waste.
Companies are eligible for a 2 percent discount on food contracts if the company is producing food within a 15-county area or buys at least 20 percent of its food from regional producers.
