On 13 August 2013, the Telecommunications Business Act was amended. Foreign investors from FTA partners are henceforth allowed to indirectly own up to 100% of Korean facility-based telecommunication business.
However, two publically owned or controlled firms (KT and SK Telecom) are excepted from this measure and cannot be owned by foreign investors.
