FDI: Entry and ownership rule

On 24 May 2010, Cambodia issued the "Law on Foreign Ownership" thereby allowing foreigners to own private units in co-owned buildings.

A co-owned building is one in which several owners reside and consists of several parts that are each exclusive ownership of such sub-owners. These parts are called "private units" and can be legally owned by a foreigner. "Common areas" which are for the common use of all sub-owners cannot be owned by foreigners. Further, foreigners are not allowed to own the land of these co-owned buildings or even private units on a buidling that is within 30 kilometers of a land border, with certain exceptions.
