In February 2012, the government of Canada extended an existing antidumping and anti-subsidy investigation. The definitive duty was extended for a new period in July 2016. In November 2021, a new sunset review was initiated.

On July 20, 2016 the Canada Border Services Agency renewed the existinganti-dumping order against imports of copper pipe fittings from UnitedStates of America, Korea, and China.
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal on February 17, 2012 renewed the existing anti-dumping order against imports of copper pipe fittings from United States of America, Korea, and China.
The original order was imposed on February 19, 2007, with the renewed order thus exceeding the five-year 'sunset' standard that generally applies to trade-remedy measures under WTO agreements (i.e., article 21.3 of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and article 11.3 of the Anti-dumping Agreement).
On 9 November 2021, the Canadian authorities announced the initiation of a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from the United States, South Korea and China.
On July 20, 2016 the Canada Border Services Agency renewed the existing countervailing duty against imports of copper pipe fittings from China.
