The original order was imposed on November 6, 1995, with the renewed order thus exceeding the five-year 'sunset' standard that generally applies to trade-remedy measures under WTO agreements (i.e., article 21.3 of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and article 11.3 of the Anti-dumping Agreement).
On December 27, 2018 the Canadian International Trade Tribunal made two related decisions renewing the antidumping orders against certain hot-rolled carbon steel plate and high-strength low-alloy steel plate imported from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine, Brazil, Denmark, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, and Korea. These various orders include those identified in the intervention above.
