The Canadian International Trade Tribunal on June 17, 2010 renewed the existing anti-dumping and countervailing duty order against imports of refined sugar from the United States, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the European Union. The original order was imposed on November 6, 1995, with the renewed order thus exceeding the five-year 'sunset' standard that generally applies to trade-remedy measures under WTO agreements (i.e., article 21.3 of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and article 11.3 of the Anti-dumping Agreement).
On December 27, 2018 the Canadian International Trade Tribunal made two related decisions renewing the antidumping orders against certain hot-rolled carbon steel plate and high-strength low-alloy steel plate imported from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine, Brazil, Denmark, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, and Korea. These various orders include those identified in the intervention above.
