Anti-dumping

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal on January 6, 2010 renewed the existing anti-dumping and countervailing duty order against imports of certain fasteners from China and Taiwan.

On 21 August 2014, the government of Canada replaced the described order with a second renwal (see related measure).

The original order was imposed on January 7, 2005, with the renewed order thus exceeding the five-year 'sunset' standard that generally applies to trade-remedy measures under WTO agreements (i.e., article 21.3 of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and article 11.3 of the Anti-dumping Agreement).
