Anti-subsidy

In a Federal Register notice published on August 12, 2014 the U.S. Department of Commerce renewed the existing countervailing duty order against imports of circular welded austenitic stainless pressure pipe from China. The original order was imposed on March 19, 2009, with the renewed order thus exceeding the five-year 'sunset' standard that generally applies to trade-remedy measures under WTO agreements (i.e., article 21.3 of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and article 11.3 of the Anti-dumping Agreement).

Anti-subsidy

On May 29, 2019 the U.S. International Trade Commission determined that revoking the existing antidumping and countervailing duty orders on imports of circular welded carbon-quality steel pipe from China would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. As a result of the Commission’s affirmative determinations, the existing antidumping and countervailing duty orders on imports of this product from China will remain in place.
