Anti-dumping

In a Federal Register notice published on August 11, 2011 the U.S. Department of Commerce renewed the existing anti-dumping order against imports of stainless steel sheet and strip from Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. The original order was imposed on August 6, 1999, with the renewed order thus exceeding the five-year 'sunset' standard that generally applies to trade-remedy measures under WTO agreements (i.e., article 21.3 of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and article 11.3 of the Anti-dumping Agreement).

Anti-dumping

On August 30, 2017 the U.S. International Trade Commission determined that revoking the existing antidumping duty orders on imports of stainless steel sheet and strip from Japan, Korea, and Taiwan would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. As a result of the affirmative determinations, the existing antidumping duty orders on imports of this product from Japan, Korea, and Taiwan and the existing countervailing duty order on imports of this product from Korea will remain in place.
