Since 2010, the US government has repeatedly renewed the anti-dumping duties against iron construction castings from seleceted countries.
On December 2, 2016 the U.S. International Trade Commission determinedthat revoking the existing countervailing duty order on ironconstruction castings from Brazil and the existing anti-dumping dutyorders on iron construction castings from Brazil, Canada, and Chinawould be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injurywithin a reasonably foreseeable time.
In a Federal Register notice published on November 19, 2010 the U.S. Department of Commerce renewed the existing anti-dumping order against imports of iron construction castings from Canada, Brazil, and China. The original order was imposed on May 9, 1986, with the renewed order thus exceeding the five-year 'sunset' standard that generally applies to trade-remedy measures under WTO agreements (i.e., article 21.3 of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and article 11.3 of the Anti-dumping Agreement).
