Anti-dumping

In a vote on April 5, 2016 the U.S. International Trade Commissionrenewed for the second time the existing anti-dumping and countervailing duty orders onpolyethylene retail carrier bags from China, Indonesia, Malaysia,Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
In a Federal Register notice published on July 7, 2010 the U.S. Department of Commerce renewed the existing anti-dumping order against imports of polyethylene retail carrier bags from China from Malaysia, and Thailand. The original order was imposed on August 9, 2004, with the renewed order thus exceeding the five-year 'sunset' standard that generally applies to trade-remedy measures under WTO agreements (i.e., article 21.3 of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and article 11.3 of the Anti-dumping Agreement).
