Anti-dumping

On June 6, 2014, the Secretary for Foreign Trade of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of polymeric methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (polymeric MDI) from Belgium, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Republic of Korea and Spain (Circular No. 27, 06.06.2014).
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 3909.3020.
The complaint was lodged on April 30, 2014 by Bayer S.A., which is the sole domestic producer of the good under scrutiny.
The investigation started on the day of the publication of the circular in the Federal Official Gazette of Brazil, i.e. on June 9, 2014.

On October 9, 2014, the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade made a preliminary determination of dumping against imports of polymeric MDI from Belgium, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Republic of Korea and Spain (Circular No. 59, 09.10.2014). The investigation continues until the final determination. Circular No. 59 was published in the Federal Official Gazette of Brazil on October 10, 2014.

On March 9, 2015, the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade decided to terminate, at the request of the complainant, the investigation without judgment on the merits (Circular No. 11, 09.03.2015). Circular No. 11 was published in the Federal Official Gazette of Brazil on March 10, 2015.
