In April 2009, the government of India extended the definitive duty imposed on imports of nylon tyre cord fabric from China for a new period. In April 2014, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in June 2015. In November 2019, a new sunset review was initiated.

Anti-dumping

On September 16, 2008, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of nylon tyre cord fabric, used for reinforcement of tyres, from China.
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 5902.1000.
 
On March 31, 2009, the Indian authorities issued their final findings of the sunset review. They recommended the continuation of the existing anti-dumping measure.

On April 29, 2009, the Indian authorities issued the notification of extension of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of partially oriented yarn from China (Notification No. 41/2009-Customs, 29.04.2009). The amount of the duty is USD 1.76 per kilogram, at the exception of the company M/s. Ningbo Nylon Company Ltd. whose exports are subject to a duty of USD 1.24 per kilogram. This duty is effective for a period of five years.
 
The original anti-dumping duty was decided on March 9, 2005 and imposed by Notification No. 36/2005-Customs on April 27, 2005. The amount of this duty ranged from USD 0.54 to USD 0.81 per kilogram, depending on the Chinese producer.
 
On April 17, 2014, the Indian authorities initiated a second sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of nylon tyre cord fabric from China.
 
On May 16, 2014, the Indian authorities issued the notification of provisional extension of the anti-dumping duty imposed by Notification No. 41/2009 dated April 29, 2009. This duty remains in force up to and inclusive of April 28, 2015.
 
On April 13th, 2015, the Indian Directorate General of anti-dumping & allied duties, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, issued its final findings of the sunset review. It recommended the continuation of the existing anti-dumping measure.

On June 12th, 2015, the Indian Ministry of Finance issued the Customs Notification of extension of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of nylon tyre cord fabric originating in China (Notification No. 29/2015-Customs (ADD), 10.06.2015). The amount of the duty is USD 1.10 per kilogram, at the exception of the company Jiangsu Haiyang Chemical Fibres Co. Ltd. whose exports are subject to a duty of USD 0.52 per kilogram. This duty is effective for a period of five years.

On 21 November 2019, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. This follows the application lodged by the Association of Synthetic Fibre Industry on behalf of the local companies SRF Ltd. and Century Enka Ltd.
