On July 5, 2008, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of titanium dioxide anatase grade (having chemical formula TiO2) from China.
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS codes: 2823.0000 and 2823.0010.
On July 3, 2009, the Indian authorities issued their final findings of the sunset review. They recommended the continuation of the existing anti-dumping measure.
On August 4, 2009, the Indian authorities issued the notification of extension of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of titanium dioxide from China (Notification No. 85/2009-Customs, 04.08.2009). For details about the amount of the duty, see table of Notification No. 85/2009-Customs. This duty is effective for a period of five years.
The original anti-dumping duty was decided on March 15, 2004 and imposed by Notification No. 54/2004-Customs on April 9, 2004.
