Export ban

On 23 February 2012, India allowed the export of certain varities of wheat from the non-EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Land Custom Stations on the Bangladesh and Nepal border. Earlier on 9 September 2011, the export ban on these varieties of wheat was removed (see related measure) but the export was allowed only through Custom EDI ports. Unlike the latter, export through the land custom stations will require prior registration with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
