In June 2011, the government of the Republic of Korea initiated a sunset review and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in May 2015. The duty was again extended in January 2016 and September 2019.

Anti-dumping

On June 22, 2011, the Korean authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of PET film from China and India. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 3920.6200 and 3920.6900.
 
On May 25, 2012, the Korean authorities extended the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of PET film from China and India. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in China ranges from 5.87% to 36.98%, depending on the exporting company. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in India ranges from 14.63% to 34.90%, depending on the exporting company.
 
On January 15th, 2015, the South Korean authorities initiated a new sunset review of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of PET film originating in China and India. 

On 13 January 2016, the definitive duty was extended for a new period on imports of the subject good from China and India. 

On 12 September 2018, the Korean authorities initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China and India. 

On 11 September 2019, the Korean authorities extended the definitive duty imposed on import of PET film from China and India for a new period following the conclusion of a sunset review. The rate of duty on imports from India and China is between 13.51% and 36.98%.
