On 20 September 2013, Indonesia announced a regulation that substantially amends the current soybean import policy (cf. Related Measures). The regulation foresees the implementation of the following measures:

  • elimination of import quotas
  • elimination of pre-shipment inspection
  • elimination of local purchase requirements
  • elimination of of sales allocations to local cooperatives

The5% import tariff on soyabeans was also suspended.
