In June 2022, the government of Kenya imposed import levies on the eggs originating in Uganda.

On 9 June 2022, the Kenyan media reported that the government imposed import levies on eggs from Uganda. According to the reports, the importers are charged KES 70 (USD 0.6) per tray of eggs from Uganda.
Previously, in December 2021, the government of Kenya lifted the import ban on the poultry products, including eggs, from Uganda.
