Import quota

 On 21 November 2012, the Indian Ministry of Finance amended the import duty exemptions on milk imports. Earlier imports up to an aggregate of 50,000 metric tons in a year were exempt from any duty, while imports above this were subject at normal rates. With the amendment, the duty has been increased to 15% for an aggregate of 10,000 metric tons of imports in a year, with normal rates for imports above this limit.
