In July 2009, the government of India initiated a new anti-dumping investigation and definitive duties were imposed in August 2010. The duty was terminated in August 2015.

On July 6, 2009, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of acrylic fibre from the Japan and Belarus.
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 5501.3000 and 5503.3000.
On July 5, 2010, the Indian authorities decided upon the continuation of the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of acrylic fibre from the Japan and Belarus. The amount of the duty is USD 2,886 per metric ton for imports originating in Belarus and USD 1,681per metric ton for imports originating in Japan. Notification No. 85 /2010-Customs was issued on August 30, 2010.
On 22 August 2015, the definitive duty was terminated as it was set to expire.
