Anti-dumping

On September 8, 2008, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) from Japan, Russia and South Korea (MOFCOM Announcement No. 61 of 2008, 08.09.2008).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 4002.1911, 4002.1912 and 4002.1919.
This follows the application lodged on June 10, 2008 by the Qilu Branch of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, Shen Hua Chemical Industrial Co., Ltd., Jilin Chemical Group Company (part of China National Petroleum Corporation) and Lanzhou Chemical Industry Company (part of China National Petroleum Corporation) on behalf of the domestic SBR industry.
On September 7, 2009, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping duty on imports of styrene butadiene rubber originating in Japan, Russia and South Korea (MOFCOM Announcement No. 62 of 2009, 07.09.2009). This duty entered into force on September 8, 2009 and is applicable for a period of five years.
On September 7, 2014, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China announced that the duty imposed on imports of styrene butadiene rubber originating in Japan, Russia and South Korea will terminate on September 7, 2014 since no application has been filled for an extension (MOFCOM Announcement No. 60 of 2014, 07.09.2014).
