Import tariff

On 18 November 2008, the government of India has reimposed import duties on several iron and steel products. Articles such as pig iron, spiegeleisen, semi-finished, flat or long iron or steel products are now subject to a 5 percent ad valorem duty.

The products had originally been exempted from import duties on 31 October 2008.
