Local sourcing

On 8 May 2013, the Mercosur Commission for Commerce adopted Directive no. 15/13 which introduces a 60% regional content requirement on electric motors falling under tariff line NCM (Mercosur Nomenclature) 8501.53.30.

In order to benefit from the preferential treatments by the Mercosur agreements, the products to be exported to other Member States must have a proper Certificate of Origin. According to the Regime of Origin, for products to be considered from Mercosur, 60% of their inputs must be produced inside the country.
