In May 2022, the Turkish Meat and Milk Institution (TMMI) increased the purchase price for broiler chicken and meat of sheep, goats and bovine animals.

Price stabilisation

On 8 May 2022, the Turkish Meat and Milk Institution (TMMI) increased the purchase price for the broiler chicken and meat of sheep, goats and bovine animals.

More specifically, the TMMI set the purchase price for the first quality broiler chicken at TRY 20.23 per kg (USD 1.35 per kg). Previously, the purchase price for broiler chicken was TRY 16.33 per kg (USD 1.09 per kg). TMMI increased the purchase price of meat bovine animals from a price range of TRY 39 (USD 2.60) - TRY 60 (USD 4.01) per kg to a price range of TRY 55 (USD 3.67) - TRY 74 (USD 4.94) per kg. TMMI also increased the purchase price for the meat of sheep and goats from a price range of TRY 25 (USD 1.67) - TRY 55 (USD 3.67) per kg to a price range of TRY 32 (USD 2.14) - TRY 68 (USD 4.54) per kg (see related state act).

The TMMI was founded to contribute to the development of agriculture and livestock breeding in Turkey. The TMMI implements purchase price policies on cattle, sheep and goats, and poultry to provide a guaranteed market for domestic producers.

Update

On 20 May 2022, TMMI increased the purchase price for the meat of bovine animals (see related state act).
