Financial grant

On 15 April 2022, the government of the Russian Federation published Decree No. 876-r allocating over RUB 19.5 billion (approx. USD 234 million) to Russian airliners. According to the Decree, the subsidies must be used for reimbursing the cost of tickets for flights that were cancelled due to the closure of airports in the south and central parts of Russia.

According to the press release, “State support will allow carriers to save their own working capital, which means they will have financial resources to ensure flight safety and maintain the airworthiness of aircraft”. Rosaviatsia, the Federal Air Transport Agency of the Russian Federation, will be responsible for allocating the funds properly.
