Import tariff quota

On 23 April 2014, the EC announced the introduction of a zero duty import tariff quota on fresh and frozen pig meat originating in Ukraine. Imports of pork are subject to a 40'000 tonnes duty free import tariff quota. Detailed regulations for ham, loins and boneless cuts can be found in the annex of the regulation (see sources).

The measure is temporary and will expire on 31 October 2014. Earlier in April 2014, the EC already eliminated most of the customs duties on goods originating in Ukraine (see related measure).
