Export ban

On 20 February 2014, the Ministry for Agriculture, Livestock and Fishery adopted Resolution no. 28 introducing export quotas on various types of fish (i.e., whole, filet, fresh, frozen, or cooled fish):

  • Prochilodus spp.: 12.000 tons
  • Pseudoplatystoma spp.: 0 tons
  • Hoplias malabaricus and H. cf lacerdae: 1.200 tons
  • Leporinus spp.: 1.200 tons
  • Zungaro spp.: 0 tons
  • Salminus spp: 0 tons
  • Luciopimelodus pati: 150 tons
  • Pterodoras spp., Oxydoras spp., Rhinodoras spp., Anadoras spp., Platydoras spp., Trachidoras spp., Doras spp.: 0 tons
  • Ageneiosus spp., Auchenipterus spp.: 0 tons
  • Pimelodus spp., Rhamadia spp.: 25 tons

 
The measure took effect on 27 February2014 and lasts until 31 December 2014.
