In March 2022, the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry restricted the export of certain types of maize.

On 21 March 2022, the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (the Ministry) issued a Circular (22/220) restricting the export of certain types of maize classified under the HS codes 1005.90, and 1104.23. The exports of these products are subject to phytosanitary certification requirements from the Ministry. According to the Circular, the Ministry will no longer issue phytosanitary certification for the subject products.
The export restriction will stay in force until further notice.
