On 9 May 2011, the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (AFIP) adopted General Resolution 3098 which increases the reference prices on the export of honey which figures under Mercosur Nomenclature (NCM) 0409.00.00. The measure stipulates that the export price shall not deviate by more than 10% from the reference price:
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature for exportgoods in 2005 (in Spanish: valores referenciales de carácterpreventivo). The stated purpose is to safeguard the revenue derived fromthe payment of export duties (see WTO Trade Policy Review). The reference values are based on free on board (FOB) prices in USD. Alist with all current reference values can be consulted under: www.afip.gob.ar/Aduana/valoracion/Valores%20Referenciales%20vigentes.pdf
The measure was effective on 16 May 2011 and suspends the previous reference prices on honey under General Resolution 3052 of 24 February 2011. On 14 October 2011, the reference prices were updated by General Resolution 3194 (see 'Related Measures').
