Controls on commercial transactions and investment instruments

On 3 March 2022, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation imposed a 30% commission on foreign currency purchases on currency exchanges. The commission applies to individuals purchasing US dollars, euros, and pounds sterling. 

The measure is taken in response to sanctions following the Russian attack on Ukraine. The ban comes into force on 3 March 2022.
