Export tax

On 7 January 2014, the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (AFIP) adopted General Resolution 3578 which updates the reference values on the export of cow and buffalo skins and leathers. The export goods belong to the HS-codes 4101 and 4104 which carry a reference price of USD 2.35 and USD 2.85, respectively. In contrast to the previous measure on reference values for cow skins, this resolution includes more countries of destination.

The measure was effective on 13 January 2014 and suspends General Resolution 3557/2013.

Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forexport goods in 2005. The stated purpose is to safeguard the revenue derivedfrom the payment of export duties (WTO Trade Policy Review). The valuesare based on free on board (FOB) prices in USD and vary sometimesdepending on the countries of destination. A list with all currentreference values and countries of destination can be consulted under:www.afip.gob.ar/Aduana/valoracion/Valores%20Referenciales%20vigentes.pdf
