Export tax

On 14 November 2013, the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (AFIP) adopted General Resolution 3543 which increases the reference values on powdered milk for export. The following Mercosur Nomenclature (NCM) codes are affected:

  • Powdered milk (NCM 0402.21.10), in cans, with a net weight of less than or equal to 2kg: USD 5,340/kg (before USD 3.96kg)

Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature for exportgoods in 2005 (in Spanish: valores referenciales de carácterpreventivo). The stated purpose is to safeguard the revenue derived fromthe payment of export duties (see WTO Trade Policy Review). The reference values are based on free on board (FOB) prices in USD. Alist with all current reference values can be consulted under: www.afip.gob.ar/Aduana/valoracion/Valores%20Referenciales%20vigentes.pdf

The measure was effective on 28 November 2013 and suspends the preceding reference values stipulated in General Resolution 3223 of 17 November 2011.
