Export licensing requirement

On 19 January 2022, Indonesia issued the Ministry of Trade Regulation No.2/2022, imposing export licensing requirements on crude palm oil and used cooking oil. The affected products were classified under HS codes 151110, 151190, 151800, and 230690.

The objective of the regulation is to ensure the supply of these products in Indonesia.

The Director-General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Trade (Kemendag), Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana, stated, "In recording through export approvals, business actors carry out self-declaration of the amount exported and supplied to the country. This is what we will record and see".

The regulation entered into force on 24 January 2022.
