Financial assistance in foreign market

On December 20th, 2021, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) signed a loan deal with Iwatani Corporation for USD 15m. The deal was intended to fund operation and construction of hydrogen infrastructure in the US state of California through the latter firm's US subsidiary.

The press release announcing the deal stated that, 'the loan will contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the international competitiveness of Japanese industry by financially supporting Iwatani Corporation's hydrogen station construction and operation business in the United States'.
