Financial assistance in foreign market

On December 28th, 2021, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) signed a loan deal with Nipro Co., Ltd for JPY 6bn (USD 52.3m). The deal supports the activities of the firm's Vietnamese subsidiary.

Nipro is a manufacturer of various medical products, both pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. Its Vietnamese subsidiary primarily manufactures dialysis machines and catheters.

According to the press release announcing the deal, Nipro is 'aiming for further business expansion', and the loan from JBIC will 'contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the international competitiveness of Japanese industry by financially supporting the overseas business development of Nipro'.

Overseas investment loans
JBIC provides direct loans named overseas investment loans to Japanese companies, overseas affiliates or joint ventures where Japanese companies hold equity interests and governments or financial institutions partying with such overseas affiliates.
