In October 2021, the Swiss authorities temporarily increased the import tariff-rate quota for seed potatoes by 2,000 tonnes for the month of October until December 2021.

On 1 October 2021, the Swiss authorities increased the import tariff-rate quota volume for seed potatoes by 2,000 tonnes. The additional volume will be available during the period 1 October 2021 to 31 December 2021. Notably, the import tariff quota on seed potatoes for the year 2021 was originally set at 4,000 tonnes.
In particular, the goods subject to the import tariff quota fall under tariff line 0701.10.10. The applied in-quota tariff level of CHF 1.40/100 kg (approx. USD 1.5), whilst the out-of-quota tariff level is CHF 44/100 kg (approx. USD 47).
