Rossiyskaya Gazeta, an official newspaper of the Russian Government, Issue 6328 of 12 March 2014, reported that on 11 March 2014 the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting on which was discussed the supply of domestic agricultural producers with machinery. He commented that in practice half of the total agricultural machinery is quite outdated, the consequence of which are additional operational expenses. He also added that medium-sized farmers actively use the products of 'Rosagroleasing'. However, the leasing company predominantly offers imported machinery, primarily from Belarus. Mr Medveded commended: 'I would '...' have a less liberal attitude toward those regions that subsidise foreigners' and requested to be prepared a report for all Russian regions that use public finance for the acquisition of foreign agricultural equipment. He also added that state support for regions that buy imported agricultural machinery may be reduced in the future.
