In June 2021, the government of Argentina re-established the export reference prices applicable to certain hides and skins.

On 22 June 2021, the Federal Public Revenue Administration adopted General Resolution 5011/2021 establishing export reference prices on different hides and skins (heifer, steer, cow, buffalo, and other bovines). The affected products were classified under the tariff subheading NCM 4101.50.10.
The export criterion values were set at FOB values ranging between USD 0.36 and USD 0.69 per kilogram, depending on the type of leather. Notably, since the general elimination of export prices through General Resolution 4161-E/2017, the products were not affected by export reference prices (see related state act).
The new reference prices only apply to exports to four country groups composed of Albania, Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Chile, China, Chinese Taipei, Colombia, Congo, Ivory Coast, Denmark, Egypt, France, Gabon, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mauritius, Mexico, Myanmar, Netherlands, Niger, Nigeria, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Zambia.
General Resolution 5011/2021 entered into force on 23 June 2021, one working day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
