Import tariff

On 27 October 2021, the Chilean Government adopted Exempt Decree 468/2021 decreasing the applicable discount on customs duties on raw sugar. The new discount values are in force for a one-month period, starting on 1 November 2021, and are to be applied to the ad valorem customs duties.

Specifically, the discount for raw sugar was decreased to USD 182.27 per tonne, whereas the previous discount was USD 184.25 per tonne (see related state act).

The measure also increased the discounts set for other types of sugar (see related intervention).

Import tariff

On 27 October 2021, the Chilean Government adopted Exempt Decree 468/2021 increasing the applicable discount on customs duties on sugar qualified as Grade 1 or 2, as well as Grade 3 and 4, and other substandard. The new discount values are in force for a one-month period, starting on 1 November 2021, and are to be applied to the ad valorem customs duties.

Specifically, the discount for sugar qualified as Grade 1 or 2 was increased to 265.98 USD per tonne, while the previously applicable discount was USD 241.30 per tonne (see related state act).

For sugar qualified as Grade 3 or 4, the discount was increased to 215.75 USD per tonne, while the previously applicable discount was USD 207.07 per tonne (see related state act).

The measure also decreased the discounts set for raw sugar (see related intervention).
